Chapter 7: Choosing extra software

There is huge range of software available for Pocket PC and Palm OS devices. Indeed many doctors were themselves creating clinical software from the early days of handheld computers. The rest of this book will show you some of the existing tools that you might find useful but you will have plenty of uses that are unique to your department, family and personal interests.

A good rule of thumb is that whenever you find yourself reaching for a piece of paper to write something down rather than doing the writing on your handheld computer then you probably need some new software. Luckily, many other people will have had the same need as you, so the software is probably available and affordable.
