Chapter 3: The Address Book
In most hospitals, the switchboard staff are extremely busy. This is because so many patients, relatives and hospital staff are trying to reach them to learn the contact details of clinicians. So a phone call to the switchboard staff requires being on-hold for several minutes.
Simply using your own handheld computer's address book instead of calling switchboard can save you many minutes each day. But the electronic address book goes further, allowing you to do things that a paper version does not.
