Who is Eligibile to Apply?
Candidates for an Al-Ubaydli Scholarship:
- may come from any country as long as they have good access to the Internet.
- have a background in healthcare, either as practicing clinicians, clinical students or in working with clinicians.
- must be excellent speakers of English. Those who are not native speakers must be proficient in the English language.
- must apply no later than 1 November 2006.
- should note that Al-Ubaydli Scholars are subject to the conditions set out by the Scholarship for satisfactory academic progress to receive the payment.
- who are not successful in winning an Al-Ubaydli Scholarship will automatically be considered for future collaborations created through this website.
What Candidate are we Looking For?
- those with an ability to understand evidence-based medicine, demonstrated by their performance in summarising two sample papers.
- a record of interest in and contribution to medical computing and its teaching
- an excellent academic record from a recognised university.
- For universities which work according to the British pattern, a first class or high second class honours degree, or its equivalent, is necessary.
- For universities which work according to the North American pattern, candidates will be expected to have excellent transcripts with high GPA scores showing evidence of sustained achievement in study.
- The contact details of two faculty staff who are familiar with the student and their course of study.
