Many lessons have been accumulated in the clinical literature on the medical and scientific uses of handheld computers that need to be understood and assimilated into practice. Mobile Medical Computing Reviews is an answer to this challenge: a free access e-journal that summarizes the existing research on mobile medical computing, which is the use of handheld computers in all aspects of the health sciences. The summaries will hopefully help designers of clinical computing projects to avoid the mistakes of prior research projects and to build upon the successes. The summaries are succinct and useful learning points from each paper (e.g. the identification of unique methodologies, practical lessons, insightful comments, etc.). In addition, our reviews will try to discuss findings with the research context and other qualifiers in consideration.
