Tables
PIE does not cope with all tables. Here's an example article from The Economist:

The <COLSPAN> tag means that the user must scroll horizontally to
read
PIE cannot compress the first few paragraphs of text. The reason is the <COLSPAN> tag. It allows a web page's designer to specify that a paragraph may span more than one column. This can be seen as the case of the first few paragraphs in The Economist's article. PIE can compress each column, but it cannot compress a paragraph that spans more than one column. And this in turn requires horizontal scrolling.
