Chris Paton, New Media Medicine

Chris Paton is a graduate of Nottingham Medical School and is the Director of New Media Medicine (www.newmediamedicine.com), an online learning and web development company. As well as developing e-learning courses, NMM also creates online medical communities.

One of these is Doctors’ Gadgets (www.doctorsgadgets.com) a community of doctors and health professionals who use PDAs in their work. DoctorGadgets.com is also the home of the online tutorials that accompany this book. Chris is also involved in off-line teaching and as well as lecturing on the use of handhelds in medicine, he co-organises with Dr Al-Ubaydli the annual “Handhelds Workshop” at the Royal Society of Medicine.

Dr Chris Paton is a surgeon programmer, and the creator of New Media Medicine's excellent sites. These include DoctorsGadgets.com, a great place to keep up with the latest news on handheld computers. And for those new to handhelds, the site includes discussion forums where you can ask for help. It's well worth a visit at www.newmediamedicine.com.
