
What would John Snow use today? PDAs for public health data
From Ghana to Georgia, handheld computers are being used to collect public health data in the field. This option has become easier and cheaper with the development of open source software tools and the availability of smartphone handheld computers to transfer the data. The lecture will cover the basics of handheld computers, list some of the tools, and begin discussing the issues that must be considered in developing such a public health project.
