Keynote speech for Mobilising the Clinician conference

With the release of MedHand's version of the British National Forumlary, the mobile phones of most doctors become viable clinical tools. Doctors will use these phones in their clinical practice, they will coordinate workflow with colleagues, and they will store patient information. If the phenomenon is planned for by Connecting for Health, the NHS can have valuable productivity gains from computer technology that clinicians are embracing rather than fighting. But if ignored, the danger is adhoc solutions by clinicians that put patient data at risk.
