Chapter 19
Electronic documents

Excerpt from the book....

Each handheld computer can carry an enormous amount of clinical reference information. As mentioned in Chapter 7, many medical textbooks are already available to download from the internet, and your team will find these useful. However, often the most useful type of reference information is that generated locally. This includes locally produced articles, lectures, protocols, papers or any other information you want to carry with you and share with your colleagues. This chapter begins by showing you how easy it is to make these documents available to your colleagues.

If you enjoy the ease and power of sharing small documents and are feeling adventurous, you might even want to learn about making your own electronic books. With this in mind, the second half of this chapter looks at the history of publishing and discusses how you can publish your own electronic book.
